BOOMING AGRA REAL ESTATE

 
 

Agra, apart from its historical background is famous as a tourist destination for its Mogul monuments including the Taj Mahal. Outside of its glorious past, the city has for decades been enveloped in stagnation only to revive as a vibrant centre for commerce. However the spurt in infrastructure development and reorganizing of land holdings heralds a new era for Agra's booming real estate economy.

Agra's development plans of late focus on the potentially upcoming physical and social infrastructure development. City development plans are primed for industrial and civic infrastructure plans. A total outlay of Rs. 7373.79 crore for a period of 6 years, (2007-2012) is laid out, of which 7.6% is to be shared for private development projects.

Property developers expect assured returns from investments in mega residential and commercial projects. Real estate developers are introducing modern residential apartments and townships here. Chief amongst them have been the Triveni, Parsvnath and Jaipuria groups.
TDI City is coming up on 125 acres on the outskirts of the city which will house a hotel project as well. Ansal Town on 130 acres on the Taj Expressway and Ansal Countryard are under construction. Along with Triveni City that is being executed Vian City, PSG City, Green City and the Taj NRI City are also being launched as exclusive townships.

Unitech's grand project for Agra covers 1500 acres – plots, villas, apartments will be built alongside commercial spaces, an IT Park, retail and institutional spaces, plus a luxury hotel. Upcoming futuristic malls are also part of this infrastructure real estate boom. A Software Technology Park is also in the offing on the Agra-Delhi highway.
